"Night In The Ghetto"
Another day has gone for keeps
Into the bottomless pit of time.
Again it has wounded a man, held captive
by his brethren
After dusk, he longs for bandages,
For soft hands to shield the eyes
From all the horrors that stare by day.
But in the ghetto, darkness, too, is kind
To weary eyes that all day long
Have had to watch
Dawn crawls again along the ghetto streets
Embracing all who walk this way.
Only a car like a greeting from a long-gone world
Gobbles up the dark with fiery eyes
That sweet darkness that falls upon the soul
And heal those wounds illuminated by the day...
Along the streets come light and ranks of people
Like a long black ribbon, loomed with gold.

I noticed the man being shoot in the back of the like that you put he backwards so it was executioner style. I also noticed the words in German say that they wanted to be free

ReplyDeleteI like the dark colors you used in On your butterfly it suits the poem well. I like how you showed that they stil have hope an Hope “That sweet darkness that falls upon the soul and heals those wounds illuminated by the day.” This means they longed for night because of it felt good to be away from all of the abuse and the pain that was brought that day.Hope . ReplyDeleteI think that you did pretty good on this. For example I like that you used actual phrases in German, because that adds quite a bit to the overall effect. Also when you used different colors on the different sidesof the butterfly to show the difference in night and day. Another thing that I liked was that you made the people on the different sides do different things. Like execute someone, or pray.
ReplyDeleteYour butterfly was detailed and creative. Though I did find some errors. One error I found was that the color for your MLA tag was not a different color than the other ones. Another error is that on your day side is the extra stuff like photos and maps are not green like the other side. Besides the organizing of the color of the tags it's a well of butterfly.
